Participatory Governance

The ANGOC network helps create a better policy environment for NGOs/POs through several initiatives, i.e.: documentation and comparative policy analysis, information-sharing, organizing GO-NGO-PO dialogues, mediation, bringing inter-governmental conventions and agreements to bear on public policy, and by facilitating study tours for government officials to countries with more liberal policies.

Transforming Institutions

Given current

States have the primary responsibility for their own economic and social development, which includes national policies for the implementation of agrarian reform and rural development strategies. In this context, partnerships between governments, civil society and other stakeholders for the sustainable implementation of agrarian reform and rural development play a crucial role.

States have the central role in formulating public policies that is clear and in a transparent manner, actively promoting the rights of people’s organizations, civil society organizations, indigenous communities and women to fully participate in the realization of agrarian reform and rural development.

Land Watch Asia (LWA) is a campaign undertaken by a loose coalition of organizations with a view to supporting and advancing the advocacy for access to land in Asia, particularly in the six participating countries, namely: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Nepal, and the Philippines.
