Sri Lankan farmers demand compensation for paddy land lost to drought

COLOMBO - Farmers in Sri Lanka took to the streets on Tuesday demanding compensation for paddy lands destroyed due to a water shortage, the ColomboPage Internet newspaper reported on Tuesday. The farmers demanded the government to pay them  Rs. 75,000 to cover their losses. Read more...
